Session 1: InfoTrends State-of-the-Market Address
The digital photography market has been moving at a fast and furious pace for the past 10 years. Presently, this market has entered its middle age. To capitalize on these opportunities, vendors and retailers will need to take advantage of the “digital” nature of digital photography by integrating products and services. This opening session will review some of the year’s significant events, discuss future market directions  and growth areas  , and provide a snapshot of the market opportunities and threats. Attendees will be able to answer the question “Where do I fit into the new ecosystem?”

Session 4: The Changing Face of Image Capture – Market Forecast and Consumer Usage Trends
The digital still camera market currently consists of a complete mix of users: early adopters, mainstream/pragmatist users, and conservatives/late adopters.  DSC manufacturers continue to try to distinguish themselves through new and innovative features, with an eye toward maintaining growth and/or increasing share as we enter the late majority stage of the market.  Cell phone manufacturers, meanwhile, have made the camera a commonplace feature on the handset.  The focus in mobile imaging is on issues such as ease-of-use and improvements in image quality.  Using market forecasts and end user research, InfoTrends will address the different usage patterns for each type of device and contemplate the role that each will play in the future digital photography market.  Unit and revenue forecasts and key demographic data will be considered.
Speaker:
Ed Lee, Director, InfoTrends Inc.

Session 5: New Photo Services for a Networked and Mobile World
InfoTrends expects that increasingly, the monetization of imaging will happen beyond the two traditional endpoints of capture and print. It will be about more than just selling products; it will be about selling enabling services. This session examines the development of new services that are likely to support image capture devices in the short term and the long term. We’ll discuss wireless transmission from cameras to devices, services that support the routing of a user’s image to a wide range of destinations and services, the possible resurgence of peer-to-peer sharing, and related technologies and applications.  Vendors will share their views on what will be needed to move the industry forward.
