There is intense interest in digital textile printing among printers as well as printing equipment and supplies manufacturers, as the volume potential is high and the average selling price is relatively high compared to paper-based wide format prints. Dye-sublimation is one of the leading digital textile decoration processes, and with the development of in-line sublimation printers, InfoTrends expects revenue from wide format dye-sublimation textile printing systems to grow from $7.5 million in 2007 to $65 million in 2012. In a recent InfoTrends survey, textiles were cited as one of the hottest applications for digital wide format printers.
