Digital Camera Revenues in Asia-Pacific Region Increasing at Impressive Rate

15.2 million digital cameras were sold in the Asia-Pacific region in 2006, making it the third-largest market for consumer digital cameras. Over the forecast period, this market is projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13% to reach 37.6 million cameras. By 2012, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to capture 27% of the worldwide digital camera market, which will be equal to the EMEA region. Growth in the Asia-Pacific region will be fueled by a combination of large populations and increasing wealth.
