The chart below illustrates the print volume produced by wide format UV-curable inkjet printers in 2007 and 2012. InfoTrends expects total wide format UV-curable inkjet print volume to grow from approximately 1.9 billion square feet in 2007 to over 9.3 billion square feet in 2012. This increase reflects a growing installed base and a greater capacity utilization rate over time, which is given greater print speeds and shift from other technologies into UV-curable inkjet based on lower running costs. It should be noted, however, that InfoTrends expects a great deal of this high mid-range and high-end volume to occur on substrates that are not traditional wide format graphics, but are more industrial applications. |
