Education Takes Center Stage at ON DEMAND Russia Conference

(Weymouth, MA; Moscow, Russia) December 5, 2008…InfoTrends and the ATPC made education a priority during the first-ever digital printing conference – ON DEMAND Russia. The conference program featured 20 educational sessions that provided attendees with real-world examples and insight into achieving success with digital printing technology. 50 speakers from leading Russian manufacturers and print service providers offered their expert advice on key applications, technologies, and value-added services that printers can incorporate into their business strategies today.

The conference program opened with welcoming addresses from Russian dignitaries from the Russian Interregional Printing and Publishing Association (MAP) and Moscow State University of Printing Arts.

“ON DEMAND was the most relevant and well-timed event held in Russia,” commented Boris Kuzmin, President of MAP. “The conference provided attendees with an overview of global experiences as well as the outlook for the Russian market. This meeting facilitated cooperation between manufacturers, suppliers, and consumers of digital printing technology and provided an understanding of the materials and services needed to generate market growth.”

“It is extremely important to the Russian market that this event, known all over the world, is now being held in Russia,” commented Alexander Tsyganenko, Professor and Rector at Moscow State University of Printing Arts. “The market for digital printing in Russia is growing rapidly but the need for education is paramount. Digital printing services are being sought out by the printing industry, but there is a lack of information available for printers implementing new digital technologies.”

ON DEMAND Russia was the first event to focus on Print-On-Demand technologies such as digital printing equipment, digital workflow, digital direct-to-plate, and wide format printing in the Russian market. Manufacturers, print providers, corporate executives and managers, and distributors of digital printing products and services attended this informative event. The conference provided crucial information that will help attendees position their companies in this growing market and take advantage of the benefits that digital technologies provide.

The keynote presentation from Charles Pesko, Executive Vice President, InfoTrends/Questex, conveyed end-user research and forecast data on the digital printing growth opportunity for Russian print service providers. “We are proud to bring this first-ever digital printing event to Moscow,” commented Pesko. “Our mission is to provide attendees with the most informative conference and exposition possible. By attending the conference program, they are gaining the know how to develop a highly effective digital business strategy.”

“Until recently the words ‘digital printshop’ were hardly ever mentioned when speaking of the Russian printing market,” commented Leonid Shakamundes, Director of ATPC. “Today we can say that digital technology is making its way into the industry. Hosting ON DEMAND Russia will result in the market expansion of these cutting-edge technologies.”
