Digital Photography Behaviors of Moms in Western Europe Vary Significantly by Country


(Weymouth, MA) October 06, 2008. . .According to a new survey on the photography habits of moms (females between the ages of 25 and 44 with children under age 12) in Western Europe, the market is quite fragmented, as there are significant variations in photo behaviours by country. French and Italian mothers are particularly more photo active than mothers from other countries; while the average number of digital camera photos taken by moms every three months for all of the geographies surveyed was just over 81, moms in France reported capturing over 115 photos and moms in Italy cited over 138. Moms in France also reported printing a significantly higher percentage of the photos they take than all moms surveyed, as did moms in the U.K.

Nevertheless, the variations that occurred by country were not the only notable findings revealed by the study. Mette Eriksen, a Director at InfoTrends, commented, “The digital photography habits of mothers tend to differ from that of the general population. Mothers represent a lucrative segment in the camera phone, digital camera, digital photo frame, and photo merchandise markets, and vendors must learn about the unique needs of these consumers to effectively target them.”
