InfoTrends Launches a Vertical Market Study of the Document Outsourcing Industry

(Weymouth, MA) September 15, 2008 . . . InfoTrends announced today the launch of a compelling new study that profiles document outsourcing trends and requirements within key vertical markets. The study, entitled The Document Outsourcing Evolution – A Vertical Market Analysis, will investigate consumer behavior and preferences, provide perspectives from client decision makers, and review the plans of organizations currently using document outsourcing services.

“The dynamics of the document outsourcing market are changing dramatically. Service providers are disrupting longtime business models by blending environments and expanding offerings. They are becoming savvier business partners capable of delivering a broad range of services beyond print,” commented Michael O’Leary, Director at InfoTrends. “Our new multi-client study will assess the effectiveness of these market changes by probing key decision makers within major vertical industries.”

While many service providers have already initiated these changes, there is uncertainty as to how the market is responding and whether the new breed of offerings actually solves client needs. Project objectives include:

  • Investigate and quantify the vertical markets and corporate functions that are outsourcing key document services
  • Understand consumer behavior and preferences, identifying requirements, expectations, outsourcing trends, and purchase plans for outsourcing.
  • Assess the top reasons for outsourcing and the specific functions that clients are not willing to outsource
  • Assess the preferred methods and structure for outsourcing contracts
  • Identify and profile the leading service providers from the client perspective
  • Understand the criteria used for selecting these providers.

The study findings will be critical for outsourcing providers seeking to better serve their markets, grow customer relationships, and target new opportunities. Corporate decision makers will also find the project results a valuable asset as they consider ways to use document outsourcing to achieve company financial objectives.

“The research conducted in this study will identify critical success factors; unmet customer requirements; opportunities to grow customer relationships; and other factors that will drive document outsourcing providers’ service, marketing, and sales strategies,” continued O’Leary.
