Business Users Seeking Media with Recycled Content


(Weymouth, MA) February 11, 2008… According to a new multi-client study from InfoTrends, the percentage of recycled content in media is very important to businesses, particularly large companies, while it is only moderately important to home consumers. InfoTrends believes that this is reflective of the increased pressure from environmental non-governmental organizations for businesses to “go green” by adopting corporate procurement policies that ease the burden on the planet’s wood resources while also reducing their carbon footprint.

The multi-client study through which this data was revealed focuses on the media market in the U.S. In addition to users’ acceptance of environmental initiatives, the report examines a variety of topics such as the printing of text vs. graphics on different devices, applications/media associated with color laser and copier devices, types of paper used for various applications, specialty papers, and media brands and buying. The report provides answers to questions such as:

  • How many pages are being printed for each paper type?
  • What quantity of paper are consumers purchasing (i.e. carton, ream, package)?
  • Is price or quality of paper more important?
  • What devices are various applications being printed on?
  • Which channels are consumers using to acquire paper?
