Business Users Seeking Media with Recycled Content

(Weymouth, MA) February 11, 2008… According to a new multi-client study from InfoTrends, the percentage of recycled content in media is very important to businesses, particularly large companies, while it is only moderately important to home consumers. InfoTrends believes that this is reflective of the increased pressure from environmental non-governmental organizations for businesses to “go green” by adopting corporate procurement policies that ease the burden on the planet’s wood resources while also reducing their carbon footprint.

The multi-client study through which this data was revealed focuses on the media market in the U.S. In addition to users’ acceptance of environmental initiatives, the report examines a variety of topics such as the printing of text vs. graphics on different devices, applications/media associated with color laser and copier devices, types of paper used for various applications, specialty papers, and media brands and buying. The report provides answers to questions such as:

  • How many pages are being printed for each paper type?
  • What quantity of paper are consumers purchasing (i.e. carton, ream, package)?
  • Is price or quality of paper more important?
  • What devices are various applications being printed on?
  • Which channels are consumers using to acquire paper?

InfoTrends’ statistics are part of a new series of user survey reports aimed at gaining insight into multiple hot topics in the imaging supplies market. The reports focus on end-user buying behavior and usage patterns for supplies across the home and corporate environments. There are a total of four studies focused on emerging trends related to inkjet ink, color laser toner, MFP copier toner, and paper.

Research for the  User Survey Report Series includes a blend of primary research (through structured Web surveys) including commentary on each question from InfoTrends analysts. InfoTrends surveyed a total of 2,300 decision makers. The end-user research illustrates brand preferences, price sensitivity, product requirements, decision tradeoffs, and other factors influencing purchasing decisions.

The executive style format of the reports allows for a quick and easy read, and our expert analysis provides insight into key trends that are shaping the industry today and beyond. Each report includes:

  • An Executive Summary highlighting key issues, findings, and overall recommendations
  • A chart for each question with a bulleted summary of key points and trends
  • Data tabs, charts, and the questionnaire from the study

The reports are modular to allow for customization and flexibility in purchasing. For more information on the study or to make a purchase, please contact Scott Phinney at +1 , ext. 123 or .
