Ricoh Partners with InfoTrends/CAP Ventures for Enterprise Document Assessment Modeling

(Weymouth, MA) November 4, 2005…InfoTrends/CAP Ventures announced today that Ricoh Corporation has signed an agreement to utilize InfoTrends/CAP Ventures’ Corporate Consulting Group as an objective third-party partner for enterprise document assessments and predictive modeling services.

InfoTrends/CAP Ventures’ Corporate Consulting Group utilizes an Enterprise Document Assessment Methodology (EDAM®) to predict the total document cost for an entire organization. These services have been proven accurate over the past 10 years and encompass all enterprise document costs in the office, internal production, and outside commercial printing environments.

This agreement enables Ricoh to provide its customers with a personalized view of their organization’s document costs, in their terms and under their business measurement metrics. Ricoh then has the ability to offer its customers a number of follow-up on-site assessment services and tools. This agreement enables Ricoh to engage InfoTrends/CAP Ventures to provide predictive modeling services as an independent third-party expert firm.

“This agreement further shows our commitment to helping our customers save money and optimize their document processes,” said Wayne Mize, Vice President of Solutions Marketing for Ricoh Corporation. “It allows us to provide them with an almost instant assessment of their enterprise document costs, and the information is being provided by an independent third-party.”

Organizations are continually looking for new ways to cut costs and increase efficiency. EDAM can provide highly reasoned estimates of enterprise-wide document expenses in hours rather than months and can compare or benchmark those figures against competitors or similar organizations.

“InfoTrends/CAP Ventures has been working with major corporations over the past 10 years, helping them solve their document issues,” commented Charles A. Pesko, Managing Director at InfoTrends/CAP Ventures. “This partnership can help Ricoh change the discussion from product- or vendor-centric to customer-centric, thereby enabling clients to understand the true potential savings.”

EDAM goes beyond the traditional total cost of asset ownership analysis, considering hard costs such as equipment, supplies, and services as well as examining fully-burdened costs such as IS support and infrastructure, administration, purchasing, and document management.
