Nike Gears Up to Tell Their Stories at CAP Ventures’ 2nd Annual Narrowcasting Forum Following GlobalShop 2003

(Weymouth, MA) February 12, 2003... CAP Ventures is pleased to announce that Tim Canfield, Production Director of Brand Design at Nike, Inc., will deliver the keynote presentation at the 2nd Annual Narrowcasting Chicago 2003 Forum on March 19, 2003 following GlobalShop 2003.

Narrowcasting, including networked displays and in-store TV, is a new dynamic medium for advertisers and retailers to reach customers at the point of purchase and other out of home locations.

"We have stories to tell," explained Tim Canfield. "Flexible and targeted communication with our customers is important. We began implementing and planning for centralized control of our retail media in 1998. The development of narrowcasting technology has enabled us to realize our plans in terms of standardized formats, centralized control and optimal flexibility."

Narrowcasting Chicago 2003 is a one-day conference featuring network operators, technology vendors, and end users providing insights on the benefits of narrowcasting versus other media. Presenting companies include ActiveLight, Clarity Visual Systems, Convergent Media Systems, CoolSign by AdSpace Networks, Premier Retail Networks (PRN), and Scala. In addition, Steven Keith Platt, Managing Director of S.K. Platt & Company, and Professor Barton Weitz, the Chair of the Marketing Department at the University of Florida, will focus on the linkage between digital media and POS, supply chain, CRM, and other systems.

"Narrowcasting is gaining the interest of many brand marketers and retailers as the use of digital signage and private TV networks continue to grow. We have strengthened our relationship with GlobalShop this year by working closely to cross-promote both of our events. As a result, attendees will receive a full array of educational sessions in one location," said Jeff Hayes, Group Director at CAP Ventures.

The conference will also include a dedicated exhibit area allowing attendees to network with vendors and view new products and services in this space. For more information on the program, or to register, please visit www.infotrendsresearch.com.

CAP Ventures, the leading strategic consulting firm on visual communication technologies, and VNU Expositions, the producers of GlobalShop, are joining forces to educate retailers and advertising executives in Chicago. CAP Ventures' Narrowcasting Chicago 2003  is GlobalShop's post conference event. It will be held on March 19th at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois following GlobalShop 2003, which runs March 16-18th at McCormick Place.
