(Weymouth, MA) April, 02 2002... A new forecast report from InfoTrends Research Group shows that unit shipments of document imaging scanners are growing at a projected 33% annually through 2006, with revenues growing 12%. As the rest of the scanner market matures and slows, demand for high-speed scanners is strong. "Corporate demands for better access to information, and the need to secure critical data, are opening new opportunities for imaging solutions," says Susan Moyse, analyst for InfoTrends Research Group. "Moreover, digital copier and MFP vendors are introducing scanning applications, driving document imaging beyond its traditional niche. The trends towards color and distributed capture are also helping to propel the industry forward." InfoTrends' annual "Document Imaging Scanner Forecast" report is available immediately. The report provides a comprehensive analysis for five market segments ranging from the 12 page-per-minute (ppm) workgroup segment to the 60-plus ppm high volume production segment. Each segment includes a five-year forecast for North America, vendor ranking, key trends, and strategies for success. Forecasts are further segmented by color, duplex, and connectivity type. |
